I attended a livestream music panel at the increasingly fabulous SF Music Tech Summit this week with folks from iRocke, EVNTLIVE and Austin City Limits. The medium is surely coming of age. I confessed on the panel that any new entrant to the space elicits in me a brief homicidal rage, after which I celebrate the growth of the space, as growth floats all boats. And forces us to get better, faster.
We will post some sessions from the Summit as they become available. I had a wonderful get together with Summit head Brian Zisk and his SF Music Tech Fund partner Patrick Mahoney yesterday (the Fund is an investor in ShowGo.tv). We hatched plans for service improvements, tests for paid service offerings that can return revenue to venues and artists, and new productions.
Brian Z is a particular fan of Jazz Nos Fundos from Sao Paulo and so I thought I would repost an interview I did with club impresario Max Levy in his upstairs office when we launched our partnership last year. A highlight from the Summit was when Brian Z’s smart, charming business and life partner Shoshana Zisk related that Brian watches ShowGo.tv all the time and pumps the shows through speakers all over the house.
